Mumpreneur Workshop Series 2021

When it comes to juggling her career and her kids Chrissie Knight is on the ball.

The nurse and Frankston mum of four plans to take ownership of her mother’s bookkeeping business at Calm Accounts, where she works part time, and is now keen to learn the fundamentals of running her own business.

This is why she’ll be joining Invest Frankston’s upcoming six week Mumpreneur Workshop Series to learn about starting, managing and growing a small business.

Open to all Frankston City parents and hosted by local industry experts, participants can gain fundamental skills about creating a business plan, finance management, marketing, branding, website design, social media and more.

“I’ve been working with my mum for a while now but there’s a lot to learn when it comes to running a business, especially managing the finances,” Ms Knight said.

“These workshops are perfect for parents who have kids at home with them because you can bring your kids along while you learn and you don’t need to find a babysitter.

“Not only that, they give you an opportunity to network with other like-minded mums (and dads) who are in the same boat as you.”

The two-hour sessions will be run each Wednesday at the Lyrebird Community Centre in Carrum Downs from 10am to 12pm starting April 21.

Children are welcome to attend as there will be a qualified carer at all sessions to look after the children while you learn.

All sessions are aimed to be flexible and provide you with valuable resources, council contacts and the opportunity to network with others. Each session is different with course outline below.

You have the flexibility to join one or more of the sessions and there is a small discount to join all six sessions.

Places are limited, as are child numbers, so book your spot as soon as possible.
