IF Success

Inventive. Invigorated. Dynamic. Different.

IF you mean business, Frankston City is open!

Invest Frankston is our commitment to creating the most robust, most forward thinking, most energetic, exciting, progressive suburb, city, municipality and region in Melbourne.

We aim to become an epicentre of innovation, growth, industry, modernity and thinking.

The Invest Frankston campaign is attracting business and investment to the municipality, with Council currently facilitating over 100 business and investment enquiries through the establishment of its Business Concierge and Investment Attraction specialist services.

Frankston City South Ward Councillor Brad Hill said the campaign was reaping rewards.

“We offer a tailored service to support investment from first attraction or enquiry through to establishment,” Cr Hill said.

“Frankston City Council has developed a suite of resources to attract investment into the municipality since the endorsement of the refreshed Investment Attraction Program 2019 – 2024, including recurrent funding.

“Successful businesses such as The Hop Shop bar and bottle shop and General Public have been attracted to Frankston through this campaign and are now revitalising several long term vacancies within Frankston’s city centre.”

Key components of the program include the proactive pursuit of business and development investment via dedicated council officers.

He said the Council’s Invest Frankston brand leverages Frankston’s authenticity and renowned edge in attracting quality businesses.

“This highlights Frankton’s competitive advantage against other major metropolitan and regional city centres,” he said.

“Invest Frankston is a celebration of everything our community loves about their city and we encourage others to get on the Invest Frankston website to check out what is on offer.”

Cr Hill said  new businesses were a great addition to Frankston City’s vibrant business community and added to Frankston’s revitalisation post lockdown.

The Hop Shop co-owner Ed Cox said his business, which opened on Playne Street late last year, had been booming.

He said the beach-side locale and a gap in the market contributed to the decision to open The Hop Shop, which offers 18 rotating taps of curated craft beer, more than 100 cold-stored brews available for takeaway or to enjoy in the bar and Asian-style street food.

“We knew there were a lot of young families coming to the area – we thought it was the right time for Frankston to get a venue that was more than your regular pub,” Mr Cox said.

“The community have really welcomed us and we couldn’t be happier with our decision to open here in Frankston City.”

Invest Frankston will continue to support and encourage the people and businesses of Frankston City to thrive, through our highly innovative and successful support programs and initiatives.

We are committed. We are dedicated. We are unswerving.
